Chettinadu Garlic-Chilly Rasam !!

Cherishing delicious South Indian food ranging from Vegetarain  to  Non Vegetarain are awesome!!!! Nevertheless any meal is in-completed without hot and spicy Rasam. Especially during cold and rainy season, these Rasams hits the menu.

I am here to share the recipe for the easiest and healthiest Garlic-Chilly Rasam. Garlic helps in removing bacteria & toxic enzymes from our internal system.

Preparing Time : 10 min ,  Cooking Time : 15 min


We require:

Tamarind                - 1 (big lemon sized)
Turmeric                 - 1/4 tsp
Jeera                       - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds        - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies         - 2 nos
Garlic cloves          - 5 to 6
Curry leaves           - 2 tbsp
Coriander Leaves   - handful
Salt                        - for taste
Oil                          - 2 tsp


To Prepare:

  1. Grind chillies,garlic,jeera, curry leaves & coriander leaves to a  coarse mixture.
  2. Soak tamarind in 1.5 cups of water and extract the pulp. Add turmeric powder and  coarsely ground mixture to this and mix well.Set aside.
  3. In a pan, heat oil & add mustard seeds.
  4. Once the mustard seeds splutters, add tamarind mixture to the pan. Bring the mixture to boil till the raw smell of tamarind is lost.Do not over boil !!
  5. Switch off the flame once Rasam starts boiling. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  6. Drooling Garlic-Chilly Rasam is ready !!! 
  7. Serve with rice and papad . :)
